The Room 7 Family Challenge

Room 7 challenges their families to write a story starter to help us with our marooned stories. It can be as long or as short as you wish. They are generally around 4 to 5 exciting sentences. Write the story starter as a comment. Be sure to ask us if you want more information.

The wind was howling, whistling between the gaps. We huddled together in the small room. The unmade bed was cosy with the blankets scrunched around us. All of us on the same bed. Quiet. Waiting with anticipation.

Then an immense shudder happened. The floor was on a sharp angle and we could hear the wood splintering and cracking as we were lifted and flung. Clinging together as the the wind lifted our entire cabin, flinging us through the sky light a meteor.

May Day, May Day, May Day!! I heard the captain of the ship yelling into the radio. The water was rushing into the big hole that had appeared in the side of the boat when it collided with an unseen rock. We rushed to the lifeboats and quickly put our lifejackets on. By The Carter Family

The cold salty water smashed the little boat and I was tossed about like a leaf in the wind, suddenly a huge wave crashed over the boat and I felt myself being pulled under the water. I thrashed around desperately but I was sinking fast going down down down, water filling my nose, when would this end...... I slowly opened my eyes and was blinded by sunlight, I could feel warm sand under me. I looked around and realised I'd been saved, washed up on a small island, my relief was short lived. In the distance I could hear drums beating and see smoke rising, was I safe? The Woodbridge Family
