Room 7 Visits the Newspaper
On Monday Room 7 visited the Nelson mail. We had a guy called Stuart Hague who talked to us about how they go through the process of making a newspaper. We got a photo taken of us and they put it on paper that made it look like real newspaper. First stop was the editorial department where the reporters sub -editors and photographers prepare the stories and photos which make up the news and features. The Nelson mail is part of the Fairfax Group, which owns nine daily newspapers in New Zealand. The pre-press department was the next stop. This is where advertisements are made up. Everyone agreed that a newspaper was a busy exciting place to work, with everyday bringing new stories from Nelson,New Zealand and all around the world. It was a fabulous day and we all enjoyed it.
