At the moment we are doing speeches. We asked a Toast Master called Lyn Harris-Logan to talk to us about speeches.
She read a few poems and she gave a couple of speeches about two gifts. One gift was old and cruddy and the was nice and well presented.
Some of the key points were:
- It's better to look confident than to be confident.
- Stand tall instead of slumping.
- Don't look down or mumble.
- Speech is a gift to the person you are talking to.
I enjoyed it a lot and look forward to giving speeches in class.
